TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL

John 1:21, 22 – And they asked him, What then, Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
Thought: The Jewish leaders did not like the attention John was garnering. This envoy was sent to find out exactly who he was. It had been predicted Elijah would return, but John was not Elijah. A Prophet like unto Moses had been predicted, but John was not that prophet. Who, then, was he? These men should have known. They knew about the other prophecies of the Old Testament. Surely, they should have been familiar with what had been foretold of John, but their minds were blinded.
